PLOT


Siddique the husband of Praveena is going to be a father. He was expecting a male child;but sadly he  was only gifted with a female child. He tried his luck for 3 more times. But during all the time it was female childs. Atlast as gods grace he was gifted with a male child called Feyzi..(dulqer).Some time after his birth his mother was died due to some reasons.After that his father has taken away him and his 4 sisters to foreign. He was born and brought up by his four sisters.By the time he has grown up as gentlemen. His dad had plans to make him study MBA . But he had other plans.He went to switzerland for studying chef course.He completed his course there and comes to home.As his father realises that he was cheating him, he strongly opposed dulqers future plans as a chef. As of a revenge against his father one night he stepped out of his home and went to his grand father Thilakan.Thereafter in his life he has to face many colours of life which forms the cruix of the Usthad Hotel


PERFORMANCES:


DULQER: The character of Faizy was safe in the hands of the glamour boy. In the colourful young gen city boy costumes, he was looking awesome!!!Compared to his first venture Second Show he had a stylish get up and performances wise too he was really cute.Some of his chweeky expressions  was really well received by the audiences.He is surely proving to be an answer for the slot of a decaying superstar chair.


Thilakan: After Indian Rupee a heavy character from him.The character of moosaka in the movie was tailor made for him.Without him this movie could not reach the heights in which it has ended.Thanx to him.


Siddique: Once again proved why he is called as one of the best natural actors in mollywood.As the character of Dulqers father he was the apt cast.


Nithya Menon:Even though not much to do for her in the script,her part was nicely etched by her.Her appearance in the song was also well received.


ASIF ALI had made a guest appearance in the movie.The thundering claps he got in the two scenes still remains as a question mark in my mind.


TECHNICALS:


Anwar Rasheed directional skillz was well poised with the help of a strong script from 
Anjali Menon.Both this factors have heavily contributed in the movies success.


Songs:Already hit song "appagalempadum" has created great atmosphere in the theatre.
bgm was awesome too.especially that of the title cards...


Cinematography was also in top notch.

CASANOVA REVIEW

The expectations were sky high.The budget was massive.The director was most reliable.The scriptwriterz was strong.And the actor was the best in mollywood.But all these big things fall down from everest highs.The huge expectations on the movie was the main villain in making the movie a strictly average fare to watch.

PLOT

Mohanlal the title character Casanova is a flower seller.All the girls follows him and will feel for him.He is as smart that any girl would fall for him within  five minutes.A four member gang makes a robbery in a christian monastry.The police headed by riyas khan comes to investigate the case.Roma is an aspirant that monastry.This four member gang plans a big deal in a wedding of high prolific businessman.Mohanlal gets the information about this and asks to sankar to provide a live telecast in his channel .But the wedding gets cancelled due to some reasons.The mohanlal starts a program called Fall In Love.In which he mainly targets two people of that robbery gang.He makes situations for these people to fall in love with lakshmi rai and roma.That became largely successful.What was the intent behind starting these program by the renowed casanova?who was shriya saran to mohanlal?what happened to her?His revenge for the enemies etc forms the cruix of the story.

PERFORMANCES

Mohanlal as casanova was at his personal best as the KING OF ROMANCE.His acting with that much ease has to appreciated in every scenes in the movie.One of the most stylish characters in his entire career.But due to lack of tight script the movies fate has been fall down.The reaction of the audience in the theatre for his introduction scene was enough to prove that who he is to the audience.

Jagathy as main assistant of mohanlal delivered a descent performance.But there is not much for him to perform in the movie

Among the heroines Shriya saran was my  pic of the lot.Opposite to mohanlal she delivered a confident performances.Lakshmi rai and Roma also supported the cast.But roma was near to her performances in Notebook or choclate.

TECHNICALS

Roshan andrews as the director of the movie has tried to make it a entertaining one.But he hardly succeeded in the task.The amount of hype on the movie cannot be mainted by the young director on the movie.Due to lack of a good script the movie hasn't become a big sensation.

Bobby-Sanjay the excellent scriptwriters for the first the first time in their career falls a great deal.Even to atleast satisfy the fans of the actor there was nothing.Apart from a one liner of the movie there was frankly saying nothing exciting in the movie.

Songs in the movie was above average.The title song was standout among them.

BGM by Gopi sundar was interesting in the movie.

Cameraman has done a great deal in visualising the movie with eye pleasing foreign visuals which stands out among the movie.

MY VERDICT: STRICTLY AVERAGE.

Go with minimum expectations.Then you will be satisfied...........

SPANISH MASALA REVIEW

The movie interestingly titled spanish masala was an eagerly awaited movie of the year. Master class director Laljose along with the midas touch of Janapriyanayakan Dileep  made the movie an real masala entertainer.

PLOT

The character essayed by Dileep is a mimicry artist who goes to spain for a program. After that program he stays in spain to earn a good income. He has become a cook in a local restaurant there with the help of a malayalee.One day Daniela the heroine along with bijumenon came to see this restaurant.As Daniela loves Indian food Bijumenon the right hand of her father appoints dileep as her houses chief cook. Dileep from a local malayalee servant there called pappan recalls the flash back of daniela's life. She was in madly love with kunchacko boban who was her petmothers son.But her father doesn't like this affair.He sents him to a distant farmhouse as the manager there,although it was a trap to destruct their affair.They hear to know that kunchacko died there in a car accident..After that incident Daniela believes that her father is the main culprit behind this.Daniela loses her eyes in an accident in her home itself.This is the part of flash back.Dileep since he is a good mimic attempts kunchacko's voice .Daniela becomes keenly interested in him since he produces her lovers sound.Dileep with his quick witness and comic character becomes an integral part of the house.Then Daniela's father through bijumenon asks Dileep if he wishes to marry his daughter.Dileep goes to Kerala for bringing his mother to his wedding.The things from there after takes a lot twist and turns and ends up in a happier mood.

BEHIND THE SCREEN

Laljose the director of the movie displayed a good entertaining fare for the audience.Even though this movie cannot be regarded as his master class one it is still a good entertainer.

Vidyasagar the music director made above average songs for the movie.The song arezhuthi avo was my favourite among those

Cameraman also has done a commendable job in visualing the spanish beauty to the malayalee audience.

PERFORMANCES

Dileep : The character Charlie was tailor made for him.He was behaving in this characters emotions with very much ease.A lot of his comic expressions and dialogues made a sea of applauses in the crowd.He once again proves why he is one of the most natural and lovable actor in malayalam cinema.

Kunchacko : He essayed an entirely different character from his past career.Even though we can't say that it is an extraordinary character he essayed his character with good voice modulation.He was sporting nice looks in the movie too.

Daniela : Even though she is an austrian actor she has potrayed malayalees emotions in a very commendable manner.Adding to her beauty a mature performance from her etched good results to the movie.

Bijumenon : Played a very mature character and played with so much ease.Proved once again he is an original actor and has to be explored more from him.

A new comedian who potrayed the character called Pappan was welcomed with both hands by the people.He has been amble screen space and he utilized it at its peak too.

Tomato festival also a part of the movie which extended the spanish visuals to its peak.

Overall a CLEAN ENTERTAINER from LALJOSE & CREW

ASURAVITHU REVIEW

I had gone to the movie Asuravithu with a lot of expectation on the young generation star Asif Ali.But my expectations were turned upside down as the movie proved that the actor couldn't prove his metal.

PLOT

The story begins as the once undominant underworld king SATAN(a creation A.K.SAJAN itself) son is borned and her mother played by lena drops her child infront of a church for her son to become a good life rather than following his fathers path.The child grown and became a young aspirant of becoming a priest in the seminary named Don.Now he is studying in a polyclinic too.Samvritha sunil plays the role of a boat manager who earns her daily wage through the rent of the people travelling in the boat.She also helps the police in sketching the picture of the criminals.Once Don becomes a witness of a murder of a leading officers wife.He was taken by the police and calls samvritha to draw the sketch of the killer.The killer was from a leading criminal family in the metro.Hence the police forces asif to change the name of the killer.But he sticks to his words.He has to undergo cruel punishments by the police.His mind has wavered with that incident.Mean while Baburaj plays the role of a priest who is the godfather of Don.His mother also has to witness a similar incident .He comes to know that his father was murdered by the attack of this people.He was invited by his fathers friend played by I M Vijayan invites him to play the boss of the new quotation company.His fight back against his enemies in an revengeful manner form the cruix of the story

PERFORMANCES

Asif Ali as the centre character was given ample screen shots but lack of a tight script made him feel the heat from the crowd.Although his intro scene has created thundering waves in the crowd by the second half of the movie he was receiving woes from the crowd.Although he had tried his level best to make justice to his character.His dubbing during some of the punch dialogues was not at all pleasing to the ear.wish him select a better luck next time by selecting a good script.

Baburaj as the priest was a TAILOR MADE role for him.Every single dialogue delivered by him was applaused by the crowd.If he was given ample screen space throughout the movie the fate would have been reversed.

Vijayaraghavan as the godfather of the enemy gang has made justice to his role.No one in mollywood industry can replace that role.

Lena had got a good character in the movie and was able to express her character with good dialogue delivery.

The new face who essayed the character of Messy has to be given special mention.

TECHNICALS

The lack of a tight script was the main villain in the movie.A.K.Sajan realy failed to give an enthrilling script;to say frankly it was pretty ordinary script.Direction was also pretty much average.
cinematography was interesting in parts.There was only one song which was an average one too.

IN A NUTSHELL

A movie was that could have made a good thrilling one has been destroyed by the poor scripting in the second half and an average performance from the title character.

Boxoffice verdict : FLOP
Tail :It was interesting to see a lot of Baburaj fans flexes near the theatre.
